Aquila Clean Energy secures the supply of 45 wind turbines for a group of wind projects with a capacity of 265 MW in the provinces of Granada and Almería (Spain)

—Eight wind projects which will produce renewable energy to supply more than 192,000 homes annually and avoid the emission of 189,000 tonnes of CO2 per year

Madrid, 27 June 2024 Aquila Clean Energy, a developer and operator of renewable energy projects with a focus on solar, wind and battery energy storage, has secured the supply and installation of up to 45 N163/5.X steel tower turbines, 108 metres high, from Nordex Group for a cluster of wind projects in Spain.

This group of projects consists of eight wind farms with a capacity of 265MW, which will produce energy to supply more than 192,000 homes annually and will avoid the emission of 189,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year.

Jorge Palomino, Aquila Clean Energy’s EMEA Procurement Director, said: “This agreement with Nordex marks a further step towards the implementation of the portfolio in Spain. These projects will not only contribute to decarbonising the economy through clean energy, but will also boost the socio-economic development of the region.

Aquila Clean Energy has also developed eight solar photovoltaic renewable energy projects in Spain that are already operational. These projects have a total capacity of around 300MW and will supply a total of 114,000 Spanish households with renewable energy. The company is currently developing 52 solar PV, wind and BESS projects with an approximate capacity of 3GW.
